Frequently asked questions-Software
I have my own logo and/or layout for my business card. My software is:
There are many, many different kinds of graphic software that are used to create
graphic files. You may find that you can print these files to your color printer
with decent results, however, only a few software packages will successfully
"go to the press" with accuracy. We have tried to identify these for you below
For ALL files: **Outline all text, keep one up only (12 up setups are not necessary).
CS2 Files
Save as Adobe ILL 10.0,in
the first print window, save as eps, in the second print window, save as tiff PC
file, then attach to an email and send.

Be sure to include the tag ending. Attach your file to an email and send
Adobe Photoshop (Best for photos, and text with special effects, not good for normal text)
Please keep your file in layers. Anti-aliased text in one layer, logo in another
layer. Background in a separate layer. Reduce to 300 dpi. "Save as" psd.

Note: Photoshop is a raster image editing program, not a page layout program. You can use Photoshop but eventually the file
must be placed in Illustrator, Corel Draw, or other pay layout programs for proper output to the press. Think of PSD files (photoshop)
as a photo and the page layout program, ie., Illustrator, as the photo album that assembles your photo with its text title.

QuarkXpress
Convert text to outlines, here's how:
Highlight one line of text at a time. Go to edit/text to box. This will
turn the text to a Quark picture box which will let you import graphics
into it or just fill it with a color in Quark. Good way to get out of Font
to Imager problems. But you can only do one line of text at a time, so it
takes time. Hold down your command/option/shift when you hit text to box
and it will place the box directly over the text and delete the text also.
"Save as" .eps, attach your file to an email and send
MSWord, or any of the MSOffice package
Save your file as MS Word 2000, Attach to an email, list the fonts

and to copy and paste the text in the appropriate software
MSPublisher
"Save as" .pub, 2000 version, attach your file to an email and send.

copy and paste the text in the appropriate software
And, don't forget, please view our Faqs for Graphics to verify that your file is in the correct format
